Bug Description

Binary package hint: tomboy

Hi,

This SRU has been agreed with seb128 and jcastro. I guess it still needs ~ubuntu-sru approval though.

As https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#Fixing%20several%20bugs%20in%20one%20upload explicitly points out, please don't use separate "SRU" bugs; verifying them just doesn't work. Please use the actually reported bugs in Launchpad as a reference, such as bug 345166.

Upstream would appreciate direct communication on what is going on with this. Today I spoke with yet another user for whom Tomboy is not behaving properly in the latest stable version of Ubuntu. Nobody saw fit to respond to me at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/jaunty/+source/tomboy/+bug/345166/comments/33 , and only now have I found this bug.

Please explain to me, the upstream maintainer, exactly what you want to get this release in. We are part of GNOME and follow the GNOME guidelines, which require us to only put (non-enhancement) bug fixes in stable updates. In the bug linked above I explain each and every change. If you need more, please *tell* me so I can provide it.

The link you gave above just says "please avoid" and "make it easier". I've yet to see any hard guidelines about what needs to happen here. And I assume you'd rather ship an actual release, and not 0.14.0 with 90% of the fixes from 0.14.3 applied.
