Yes.
 * If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug?
make logout and login again.
or reboot and login.
It is reproducible 100%, all logins.

This bug already described and fixed for Debian and Fedora.

how would the bug be fixed in debian when debian didn't update to the new gdm codebase yet?
