I have added "processor.

After first boot, everything works fine, and /proc/acpi/

One possibly relevant comment: the solution described on the thinkwiki page, of editing /etc/modprobe. d/options and adding "options processor max_cstate=3", then running update-initramfs, does not work: the max_cstate is set to 8 as normal.
