Bug Description

Warnings from compiler can give valuable information. Now however, there is so many of them, that anything useful is likely to be overlooked. Go through those warnings and clean them -- check return values, don't use deprecated classes and so on.

Since r1908, I only have 1 warning from qt appearing a few times, which we cannot fix.

/usr/share/qt3/include/qimage.h:61: warning: suggest parentheses around && within ||
