Bug Description
Binary package hint: nvidia-
Ubuntu 9.04 i386
After doing the kernel update to 2.6.28-13 the system will freeze consistently during or shortly after the login process. When booting using the 2.6.28-11 kernel the problem does not appear. I have an older nvidia card (Geforce 3 Ti 500) using the ubuntu recommended driver (version 96). I am not using desktop effects.
I've tracked it down to a problem with the nvidia driver after looking at the xorg log file. The end of the file shows the following error message.
[Update: The system will not always freeze when using 2.6.28-13. I am typing this on 2.6.28-13 right now. I think I may just have to live with this due to the old nvidia driver]
