konsole flicker

Bug Description

Binary package hint: konsole

OS: Kubuntu 9.04 (64-bit)
KDE Version: 4.3-RC2 (4.2.96)
System: Dell Studio XPS 16
Graphics Adapter: ATI Radeon HD 3670
Video Driver: fglrx
Compositing: XRender

Konsole window flickers. Does not appear to be the border of the window, rather, just the panel/viewable area. This bug is especially noticeable when scrolling through a large file within vim.

My settings are mostly defaults with the exception of "Unlimited scrolling" and "Linux Colors" in Appearance settings.

Some times, the "off point" of the flickering persists where I cannot see a majority of the konsole panel (just the background wallpaper).

Here is a screen shot for this bug report. Notice how the bottom of the konsole panel is invisible. In this screen shot, the invisible region is only affecting the bottom 10-20% of the panel. I have often witnessed 50-70%.

Actually appears to occur when desktop effects compositing is set to XRender (rather than OpenGL)

I would switch to OpenGL, however, this causes the machine to hang upon resume-from-ram/disk... which bug I also submitted.

This bug report was filed against an old version of Ubuntu.
Can you confirm whether this is still an issue in natty?
