Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

I frequently drag n drop emails to the desktop and found the following problems.

First problem is that there is no association between the dropped email file and the evolution mail reader.

The second problem I found with the drag n drop process is that sometimes the ":" character is dropped as well in the file name. While this is not a problem for Ubuntu, it is a problem if the file is working within a Windows network such as samba.

To recreate the problem,

Drag and drop an email to the desktop that has been forwarded, try opening the file.

To recreate the ":" drag n drop a email that has been forwarded to you.

ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: i386
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04
ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/evolution
Package: evolution 2.26.1-0ubuntu2
ProcEnviron:
 PATH=(custom, no user)
 LANG=en_AU.UTF-8
 SHELL=/bin/bash
SourcePackage: evolution
Uname: Linux 2.6.28-13-generic i686

I found the bug report for his first problem, the email association, but it is already very old. Though linking here.
