Bug Description

I Karmic, with apport version 1.5-0ubuntu2 I get:

prompt > ubuntu-bug gnome-panel
Could not import module, is a package upgrade in progress? Error: No module named launchpadlib.errors.

This was not during an upgrade, "apt-get check" reports no problem.

Do you still get this in current karmic? What's the output of

  dpkg -s python-launchpadlib

? What does

  python -c 'import launchpadlib'

say? (should print nothing)

I was having so much trouble with karmic I reverted my machine to
jaunty and hence cannot currently test this.

Well, does it work for you in Jaunty then? The structure didn't change
much.

Yes it does.

To me, the symptoms suggested that one of the required python modules
was not available on the system.

My suspicion is that python-launchpadlib (the package) was actually
installed, but something went wrong with python-central on
configuration, so that it wasn't accessible by Python.

But if it works for you right now, we have nothing to debug, I'm
afraid.
