Bug Description

Gnome Do eats far too much ram and it increases over the time. After start it uses >48MB and increases over the time, right now it uses 128MB! it's more than X session. Please do something about memory usage.

My system:
Ubuntu 9.04 64bit
gtk#: 2.12.8-2
do: 0.8.2+dfsg-0~9.04~ppa3
mono: 2.0.1-4

A list of enabled plugins would be helpful.

and now after 21 hours of uptime gnome-do takes 192MB !

I know it's bloated mono, but common ;P

Do you have the Firefox plugin enabled? That is known to leak, and depending on how many bookmarks/how much history you have it can leak *a lot*. If you have that enabled, try disabling it for awhile and see how things are.

That solved the problem. Now it uses about 40Megs of ram than before
disabling the plugin.

Thanks

I can confirm that the Firefox plugin causes a memory leak. I was experiencing the same problem (Do using >300MB after about 12 hrs.). I disabled the Firefox plugin (which doesn't seem to work after the latest updates, btw), and Do stays at ~40MB like it used to.

I can also confirm that after disabling the firefox plugin Do functions as expected, no crashes after long idle, and no memory consumption.
