Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver

As of Karmic updates a few days ago (possibly gtk2 2.17.2-0ubuntu2 → 2.17.3-0ubuntu1, but I’m not sure), I can no longer unlock my screen. The password entry box in the gnome-screensaver unlock dialog is disabled (grayed out), so I cannot enter a password to unlock the screen.

I have found that the problem is triggered by GTK_IM_MODULE=xim in my environment. (I use xim because the default input method does not support ~/.XCompose.) If I run gnome-screensaver with GTK_IM_MODULE unset, it works.
