Bug Description

Binary package hint: streamtuner

testing karmic, i'm a user of streamtuner:
it work well with jaunty but crash in karmic when we click on a link to listen with audacious on a shoutcast link ( due to broken link ?).

Need to be fixed for Shoutcast & live365 to load links of radio

some work around enable shoutcast to be filled with links
   - case 1: edit /etc/hosts & put in 205.188.234.120 www.shoutcast.com
   - case 2: replace shoutcast.so in usr/lib/streamtuner/plugins
                         by this one: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/18438623/shoutcast.so

I've not found solution for live365

Streamtuner is a nice program but is no more maintain by its designer since 2004, hope it can be updated if its dependencies need it.

in Lucid after last pulseaudio updates:
- streamtuner + exaile: work fine
- streamtuner + audacious: streamtuner immediatly crash, but nothing in /var/crash nor other logs
- audacious alone: work fine

workaround with Lucid:

have found why Streamtuner crash when it is associated with Audacious:

- package name in synaptic: audacious
- streamtuner setting in previous distro releases: audacious %q (for listening)

so, here is the bug:

we have to write "audacious2 %q" instead of "audacious %q"

That way, streamtuner does not crash and clicking on a radio link, audacious start to play.

But i discover others problems:
- audacious don't open immediatly: take about 5 seconds (with previous release it start without delay)
- when you choose to listen an other radio, the previous continue to play, so there are two streams mixed.

Hope some dev could made the changes asap.

still broken into Natty i386. As this app is no more maintained since 2004, maybe its time to switch to streamtuner2:
