Linksys wireless-B WPC11 V.4 wireless card is detected correctly as realtek 8180 chipset but is not recognized by the system

on opening device manager, the wireless card chipset is detected by the system, but wfconfig output is as follows:

eth0 no wireless extensions

sit0 no wireless extensions.

tried reloading the kernel, reinserting ndiswrapper. etc..
