Breezy: Real name with non-ASCII characters doesn't work, no error given

Bug Description

When installing Breezy and asked for the real name of the primary user, I tried to enter my name, "Åsmund Skjæveland". The dialog just cleared and asked for my name again. No error message was given. When I entered an ASCII transcription of my name, the installation worked.

A similar thing happens in GNOME user admin: When I try to change my registered name from "Aasmund Skjaeveland" to "Åsmund Skjæveland", I get no error, and the dialogs close successfully, but nothing happens. My name is unchanged.

If there's a good technical reason why the name must be ASCII-only, there should be an error message explaining this.
