Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 ("upgraded" from 8.10).

The 'rhythmbox' package installed have the version '0.12.0-0ubuntu4

Description of the ocurrences: when I try to play a Internet Radio (on a right opened application window), it shows a messege with (in brazilian portuguese) "Não foi possível iniciar a reprodução - Falha ao abrir o dispositivo de saída" (something like "Not possible to start playing - Failed to open output device", in english)

-it only happen sometimes (I think something like "40%" of the times I tried): but when it happen, I've to close and open rhythmbox to "fix" it

- it happen listening to http://scfire-mtc-aa06.stream.aol.com:80/stream/1040 (".977 The 80's Channel" - from http://www.977music.com/) - it's the only Radio that I listen here

I've see it happening in two diferent machines (hardware with big diferences, but O.S. installed in te same way).

* sorry by the poor english

I confirm the problem. It appears approx. 66% of times I try to play internet radio. When it appears it stays until I close rhythmbox (with a 66% chance of reappearing when I start it again). Pretty annoying.

Seems to be a hardware issue: since I changed my MOBO, I'm not experiencing the problem (the change coincided with my ugrade to karmic, in my case)

I can almost gaurantee it is not, but instead a Pulse / ALSA thing. Sound under GNU/Linux has always been a mess and Pulse was not without its contribution.
