Personal information for AIM buddies in empathy do not persist more than a few minutes, and in some cases cannot be changed at all. By personal information, I am referring to alias and groups. Aliases default to the screenname of the user.

Yes, I know this is not an empathy bug. It is a telepathy bug. I wasn't sure which package to attach it to, though, since there are multiple packages with telepathy in the name. Please change it in the bug report if you figure out which one it should be.

Thank you for your bug report. The issue is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug the to the people writting the software (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME)

This is an issue for both x86 and x86-64 (AMD64), but I am now using the latter, so I changed the bug report (I cannot test if it still exists for x86 anymore).

That's the version I am running, and it is still an issue.

I'm on Empathy 2.32.0.1, using x86, and the bug is still present.
