Bug Description

Using Ubuntu version Heron 8.10. I was using the Internet when the whole system crashed. When I rebooted the computer initially it was not possible to use Google, Yahoo etc. The contents of my Bookmarks have been lost. I also note that it is no longer possible for me to create new folders.

I would be grateful for any guidance.

Many thanks

Sarah

Sarah, according to your terminal log file, said that you don't have space in your hard disk, have you tried to check if really has space available in your drive?

For now I am duplicating this to Bug 312491 as it looks to be an out-of-disk-space situation. The behavior that you describe can also be related to the disk being full and thus applications not able to write any information any more.
Please try to make some more space available and see if the problem persists.
