Bug Description

After automatic update to
ojo@hermes:~$ apt-cache policy linux-image-2.6.28-13-generic
linux-image-2.6.28-13-generic:
  Installiert: 2.6.28-13.45
  Kandidat: 2.6.28-13.45
  Versions-Tabelle:
 *** 2.6.28-13.45 0
        500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-updates/main Packages
        500 http://security.ubuntu.com jaunty-security/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
my wireless card is not working any more.

Machine is a Dell Vostro 1310 with
06:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g (rev 01)
        Subsystem: Dell Device 000b
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 19
        Memory at f4000000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K]
        Capabilities: <access denied>
        Kernel driver in use: wl
        Kernel modules: wl

It looks like the wl driver is not loaded (and therefore I don't have Internet access with 2.6.28-13).

I do not use Karamic, but use Jaunty. After kernel update a several days ago my network did not work (WIFI and ETH).

this helped me to solve the problem

sudo /sbin/lrm-manager
sudo modprobe wl

But I think it should be fixed.

Hi all,
Same problem for me with a Dell Studio XPS 16 (Core i7 + Broadcom), I'm using the proprietary driver, each kernel updates breaks the wifi that I must reinstall, boring.

If I can help by providing some technical infos, please, ask.
