Bug Description

Binary package hint: kile 2.1

I have set configuration for Quickbuild in the Settings menu, but when I try to use this tool, kile give an error message :
[kile] Cannot find the tool Quickbuild in the configuration database
[Quickbuild] Unknown tool

I tried to remove all configuration files of kile (every file or directory with name *kile* in my home directory), reinstall kile, but the problem still occurs !

I'm working on Kubuntu 9.04

Go to configure kile->tools->build and select Reload Default tools.
Does it help?

I tried to reload Default tools but it didn't solve the problem.

Meanwhile, I found that compilation works in case of a new file. It is only when I work with a previous kile project done before that compilation failed. I tried to selected the project option, complation was already set on global option, but I force it again and then it works.

so now problem is solved, but I think it is still a bug in the kile application that option has to be reenabled to work !

Can you attach a project which shows this bug?
It would help a lot in solving the bug as this sounds like an upgrade problem which I'm not aware of.

Sorry but as I explained, I solve the problem in reenable the quickbuild associated with the project; I can give you the project if you want, but it wouldn't show the bug now !

Looks like this might have been a one-time problem in a project-file; so I'm closing the bug. Please reopen the bug by setting the status to new, if you witness the same problem again; and feel free to report any other problems you find.

Hi all,

I witnessed this bug again. I am attaching the project I have been working on. The project was set to a custom quickbuild combination "PDFLaTeX+ViewPDF", and even after changing it to global I still get the error
Cannot find the tool "Tool/Quickbuild/PDFLaTeX+ViewPDF" in the configuration database.
Actually, the tool is there and correctly configured, and single commands (PDFLaTeX, ViewPDF) work per se.

I am working with Ubuntu 14.04, kernel 3.13.0-52-generic #86-Ubuntu SMP

Hi I using Debian testing (up to today ) and I have same problem.
I solved this problem by edit project file.

Use editor(eg. vim) open your <project>.kilepr
and find this:

[Tools]
MakeIndex=
QuickBuild=XXXXXXXX

Remove XXXXXXX and save it.

Reopen project, it should can use kile's tool setting .
