Bug Description

I started a konsole in X (ubuntu 9.04 amd64, up to date as of 2009-07-02, nvidia binary driver, fresh system, normal :0 screen, gnome environment).

Then I used it for a while, also used some 3d programs (also fullscreen games).

After some time I noticed the konsole window does not redraw itself correctly.

If I start mc program then quit it then most of screen remains, even after clear and/or reset commands I see the previous content not redrawn. Moving the window a bit forces redraw and screen looks correctly.

This happened once so far. Still have it open, can debug it probably for some more days.
I opened new windows of konsole but they work ok so far.

Actually this bug is easy to reproduced, happened few times in 2 days;

I triggered it by using aa-genprof application, in konsole with 2 tabs (but probably many other apps could also trigger it; this particular app is using some VT codes, for example for underlined text)

Could you please paste the output of the command lspci -vvnn, and attach a copy of your xorg.conf? Thanks.

Ok, but after more testing it would seem that similar partial-redrawing bugs are more common:
1) also on intel laptop
2) also in other application (I use Konsole the most so noticed it there)

Attaching debug for the computer on which I noticed first / the most

This looks like a driver bug to me, so assigning it to the nvidia driver for your card.

affects: kdebase (Ubuntu) → nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 (Ubuntu)

Similar problems occur now, on new drivers, and on newer GFX card - still nvidia (and intel mobo)

This bug report was filed against an old version of Ubuntu.
Can you confirm whether this is still an issue in natty?

If you don't mind, it would be very helpful if you could update the bug
report in launchpad to 'Fix Released' if it is no longer an issue for
you, or if it is still occurring under natty, please tag the bug 'natty'
so it's easier for us to track.
