Bug Description
I can't access the gnome session in ubuntu (Ubuntu Dapper PPC on powerbook G4) for a bonobo-
All i made to solve is:
create the /dev/rtc lynking /dev/.static/
# sudo ln -s /dev/.static/
with a network connection sync the clock
# sudo /etc/init.
and then
#sudo clock
This temporary solve until i unplug the battery of PB. No one can help me?
I am experiencing the same:
If you “forget” to put the battery back in after you have unplugged the iBook the hardware clock gets reset. This isn’t too much of a problem in MacOSX: it pops up a “your time is wrong” dialog. However in Ubuntu numerous error messages appear at login:
"Nautilus can't be used right now, due to an unexpected error."
and
"Settings dameon restarted to many times"
and
"IDL:omg. org/Corba/ comm.failure"
etc.
Resetting the date and time via MacOSX (or in Ubuntu) solved the problem for me.
Perhaps a dialog at boot ala MacOSX?
