Bonjour is tradmark owned by Mac. The real name is "XMPP Link-Local" or "Serverless Messaging" if you refer to http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0174.html.

Could it be called "Local Network" or "People Nearby" so that it means something in the UI?

John, there is something called "people nearby" in my empathy, is this what you are referring to?

I am quite confused with empathy in Karmic (de-de). I can't find a way to add a Salute/Bonjour Account. Is it "Personen in der Nähe" ("People nearby")? Please use consistent naming across applications, or simply add "Salut" or "Bonjour" in brackets to "People nearby" -> "People nearby (Salut)"
