Xubuntu Jaunty 9.04 cd fails to load

Bug Description

Currently using intrepid 8.10 on elderly toshiba satellite 4100 XCDT, having used gutsy >hardy >intrepid with only minor x.conf issue. Tried live cd for jaunty and after try without installing option it fails with:
* Preparing restricted drivers OK
* Starting kernel event manager OK
* loading hardware drivers......
udevd-event [1925]: '/sbin/modprobe-b pci:v0000125Dd00001978sv00001179sd00000001bc04sc01i00' abnormal exit
udevd-event [2366]: 'path-id/devices/platform/pcspkr/input/input2/evevt2' abnormal exit
udevd-event [2368]: 'path-id/devices/platform/i8042/serio1/input/input3/mouse1' abnormal exit
Segmentation fault

Hangs at this point.
The version I'm using is Xubuntu.
disk checks ok and runs live in another laptop (packard bell)
I hope this is of some use.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. If you could test the current Ubuntu development version, this would help us a lot. If you can test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could upload updated logs by running apport-collect 393524, and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

Thank you for your response.
I have tried a live CD for Xubuntu 9.10 'Karmic' and the problem (with 9.04) does not occur.
An update appears to have fixed this particular issue.
