Bug Description

When I pop in a blank DVD, a dialog box pops up that asks me what I want to do.

1) I choose "select other application" from the drop-down list
2) I pick a different application (i.e., k3b) from the list that pops up
3) I click OK, which causes me to return to the original dialog box

The bug is that the selected entry in the drop-down menu is the first entry (its "open with cd/dvd creator" I think). I believe most users would expect that the application they just chose would now be the selected entry in the drop-down menu.

Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. Unfortunately a paper cut should be a small usability issue that affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. I'm afraid this bug can't be addressed as part of this project.

This is a Bug , Not a papercut. Default install comes with only Brasero.
A paper cut is a minor usability annoyance that an average user would encounter on his/her first day of using a new installation of Ubuntu 9.10.

For further info about papercuts criteria , pls read > https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PaperCut

Don't worry though, This bug has been marked as "invalid" ONLY in the papercuts project.

For resolution of the bug, kindly identify the projects affected and assign the bug to that project, otherwise the devs of the concerned project might not be notified of this problem. For more about finding the right package> https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.

could you try if that's still an issue in karmic or lucid?

I'm actually having a little difficulty reproducing this in Karmic, as the dialog that pops up when I pop up in a blank disc doesn't allow me to select a different application. Can someone else quickly test this?
