Bug Description

It is difficult to change the default application to open it ("Open with") for opening a file.
In the context menu there is an action "Open with <default application>" and "Open with" that opens a submenu with several concrete applications and a submenu "Open with other application" where the user can select a different application. However, the link to change the default application is in the context menu "Properties" under the tab "Open with". It is very "far away" to look in the "Properties" once you have the two actions "Open with <default application>" and "Open with" with the submenu. One expects that the "Open ALWAYS with" action should appear close to the other two "Open with" actions.

Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. Unfortunately a paper cut should be a small usability issue that affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. I'm afraid this bug can't be addressed as part of this project.

This is a feature request, but a good one for new users who migrate from windows... I'm assigning this to nautilus for their consideration.

A paper cut is a minor usability annoyance that an average user would encounter on his/her first day of using a new installation of Ubuntu 9.10.

For further info about papercuts criteria , pls read > https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PaperCut

Don't worry though, This bug has been marked as "invalid" ONLY in the papercuts project.

For resolution of the bug, kindly identify the projects affected and assign the bug to that project, otherwise the devs of the concerned project might not be notified of this problem.
