Hi,

after installing jaunty I'm no longer able connect to a umts network using a vodafone MC950D umts stick. It was working fine with 8.10. From the logs I see this:

Note: The vodafone-mobile-connect-card-driver-for-linux does work as well. But note that this component provides all binaries in /opt/vnc ... so this works different.

please set your APN, username and password in the connection editor. even though the values might not matter, its required for some modems to be set to something.

Hi, APN, username, password where set. These values where set during setup and manually. During the test (logs in this case) the values where already there. (See also attached screen shot)

Same issue with Verizon and EVDO. I can connect fine if I setup my own pppd config file and chat script and run it from the command line.

root@jgarcia-laptop:/etc/ppp/peers# lsusb -v

Hi,

could you please post your pppd/chat config? I would like to check if I
can confirm the 'runs from command line' with my configuration.

thanks

Hi, I did that that with the same result! So I can connect using
pppd/chat following the same instructions (changed only username and
phone number).

There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test the current Ubuntu version (10.10). If you can test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could upload updated logs by running apport-collect <bug #>, and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
