5.0.1 after setting a time zone in user preference, dates are not displayed any more

if timezone is set, date fields are empty
Example "Attendances" column date is empty

I forgot to mention - this is on MS - Windows

using the date widget to add date/time
OK adds the date time, but does not close the widget
Button Canel is dead
closing the widget with the widow exit button still shows the date time in the field, but it is not stored

entering the date/time manually does not store the entered value either

Its the same issue, It happens due to timezone issue.
