Bug Description
Kmail wins the Most Crappy Data Integrity award;
This is an interesting achievement, although I believe that Ubuntu would prefer if kmail would instead not loose settings and the EMAILs, because for some people this is actually quite important (and restoring from backups is annoying).
Steps to reproduce:
1. use kmail
2. crash (system crash for example)
3. loose
a) stored emails (sent, imap cache, etc)
b) part of settings
c) all settings
d) or all of the above
It seems 50% of the time some data is lost, imho the operation should be a bit more atomic, perhaps force some sync or something. FS is JFS in this example.
