My ~/.xsession-errors is flooded with this message (over 1300 occurrences before logging was disabled). I can trigger it by entering the control sequence "<esc>P0<esc>\" into the terminal, and starting vim causes a flurry of them.
I was unable to find a matching sequence in the terminfo database. Some random VT220 documentation I found seems to indicate that this sequence is used for loading soft fonts, though that seems like a strange thing for vim to be doing, and I can't find the code in vim which is responsible for generating this sequence.
