Binary package hint: syslog-summary

Running jaunty and syslog-summary v 1.13-1

syslog-summary produces the following warning every time it runs:

/usr/bin/syslog-summary:44: DeprecationWarning: the md5 module is deprecated; use hashlib instead
  import sys, re, getopt, string, md5

The attached patch re-writes it to use hashlib instead of md5.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and including a patch for it too. This package is sync'ed with Debian, subsequently it'd be quite helpful if you were to submit this bug and your patch upstream to Debian. Note however that debian is still (in squeeze/sid) on python2.5 as the default python, so the md5 deprecation problem hasn't appeared there yet.

This was fixed in Debian package version 1.14-1 which hit Ubuntu during Lucid and is now in Maverick. I will therefore mark this bug as "Fix Released". If this bug is still appearing for anyone, feel free to re-open this bug. Thanks alot!
