firefox-3.5 does not give up addon updates procedure

Binary package hint: firefox-3.5

Firefox 3.5 on Ubuntu Karmic Koala alpha-2 with all recent updates and a copied profile from Jaunty tries to do it's usual addon-updates on first start (3.5 profile initialization). For me the check got stuck after a specific addon "(User Agent Switcher)" - the dialogue did neither fail nor state anything about problems, the spinner kept running (see attached screenshot).

Firefox did not hang itself - clicking "Cancel" worked, but a non verbose update dialogue running for an hour might bother users.

Attached you'll also find a small strace-snipped showing the most recent calls which seemed to polled more than once a second.
