Reason given here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/375422

(not yet implemented on kernel 2.6.30)

affects: yelp (Ubuntu) → apparmor (Ubuntu)

Thanks for taking the time to report this issue and help improve Ubuntu. Yes, the 2.6.30 kernel in karmic does not yet support apparmor, and thus the apparmor userspace tools fail when they attempt to load policy into the kernel (the initscript failure you see). Marking as a duplicate of bug 375422.

dino99: apparmor should load properly on jaunty (with jaunty's kernel); is that not the case for you? If it's failing to load please unduplicate this bug report and we'll figure out what's going wrong. Thanks.
