Bug Description

I installed Ubuntu Jaunty on 7th June and it worked fine, except I installed ext4 filesystem and experienced soft lockup and had to hardboot 3 or 4 times a day, I read the bug report and fix was to upgrade the kernel so I installed kernelcheck and upgraded kernel to 2.6.30 , the ext4 filesystem doesn't cause anymore problem but now I had problem with my wifi, the wifi button didn't respond anymore I upgraded to Karmic Koala alpha 2 on 11th June and problem persist, I have following wireless card

0b:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g (rev 01)

Description: Ubuntu karmic (development branch)
Release: 9.10

I expect my wireless switch to work (on/off) but there is no response.

Exactly same behavior on Kubuntu, alpha 3 and alpha 4.

I upgraded from 9.04 and lost wireless connections, but the button did turn wireless on and off (with no response from knetworkmanager though). A clean install with alpha 4 produced the same results as repoted by other people here and in forums.

hardware: HP dv4-1225dx

09:00.0 Network controller [0280] : Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g (rev 01) (14e4:4315)
