Bug Description

I am using today's (2009-06-19) Ubuntu Karmic daily-live. OpenOffice offers to save new documents into my home folder, not my Documents folder.
1. Start a Live CD, select a language other than English at boot (e.g. Magyar or Deutsch)
2. Start OpenOffice Writer
3. Enter a letter
4. Press save
5. The document is saved by default in my home directory, not my Documents directory.
Expected result: Save my documents into the Documents folder.

Do you still have this problem with the current version in Karmic?

The situation is still the same, I tested it with Ubuntu Karmic 2009-09-10 daily live cd, which has openoffice 3.1.1.

Do you still have this problem with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid)? I can't reproduce this problem with the current version of Ubuntu.

Ubuntu 10.04 LTS is working OK.
But in Kubuntu 10.04 it still saves a new document to home folder by default. I have chosen hungarian (magyar) language at boot.

Roman,

I think this a KDE integration issue.

Home is the default save location for any locale (for kde integration). Works as designed as far as I can tell.

This is really a bug but I am not sure what is setting the directory yet. I couldn't find reference to the xdg stuff in fpicker so I am assuming its somewhere in framework. Will update you once I find what is setting it. It does work with both the gnome file dialog and the internal OOo file dialog.

Ugh no results on XDG_CONFIG_DIRS, so not sure what to grep for next.

So this is where it is set in the options, not sure what code accesses it programmaticly.

08:53 < MechtiIde> calc I set it under "Tools -> Options -> OpenOffice.org -> path"

There are no new official OpenOffice.org releases in Ubuntu packaging anymore => Won't Fix

If the problem persists, please mark this bug as "also affects project Libreoffice" or "also affects distribution Libreoffice (Ubuntu)" if that has not happened already.

Please leave references to upstream OpenOffice.org bugs in place to allow cross pollination.
