Bug Description
I think VTK should be compiled with 64bit ids per default. I have the impression, that the 32 bit ids make problems when using programs like Ifrit, on a 64 bit machine.

I use 64bit Hardy LTS and Ifrit does not run at all, crashing during its start-up. It would be very advisable to have the 64bit ids, if it is the cause.
