FR merge alternate names in author facet

The dev db has a lot of "alternate names" of authors, e.g. "Samuel L. Clemens" is an alternate name of Mark Twain, and on any Mark Twain book, both authors get indexed and both show up in the author facet. They should not show up as separate facet labels. I'm marking this as a wishlist item for now, since the obvious ways to do it are pretty complicated in the current implementation. Maybe I can think of something simpler.

That should say "Samuel Langhorne Clemens", not "Samuel L. Clemens". JK Rowling also has lots of aliases (Joanne Rowling, etc).

I think all the J. K. Rowling author pages have been merged, but the search engine hasn't been updated because the booklog wasn't being generated. You need to rebuild the index from a recent database dump.
