/etc/init.d/mbmon hangs on start

Bug Description

root@ubuntu:~# /etc/init.d/mbmon start
Starting motherboard sensor monitoring daemon:

this will hang indefinantly.

root@ubuntu:~# /etc/init.d/mbmon restart
Stopping motherboard sensor monitoring daemon: /etc/init.d/mbmon: line 29: 11713 Terminated $0 stop
Terminated

restart doesn't work

when I do have this package running it eats 85-90% of my cpu, but i'm unsure if this is an issue only I am having.

Is this symptom reproducible on your hardware in current 8.04 and/or 8.10 alpha?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
