Bug Description

Description: KUbuntu 9.04
Release: 9.04

Embedded applications, such as Okular embedded within Konqueror cause overlapping shortcuts and rather than a hierarchy of shortcuts allowing one application to use the shortcut, neither application's shortcut key is used. The following message pops up and drastically reduces the power of KDE:

Ambiguous Shortcut Detected
The key sequence 'F5' is ambiguous. Use 'Configure Shortcuts'
from the 'Settings' menu to solve the ambiguity.
No action will be triggered.

Please fix this, either by setting application-application maps allowing us to specify which application wins the shortcut overlap, or by simply making the embedded application win, or the surrounding application win. I realize it's a tricky decision, but please make it. Losing the key sequence for both applications, especially since they often do the same things, is baaaaaaad. Much of my justification of being with KDE is because I can be so darn productive, and shortcuts are a huge part of it.

Thanks,
Matt

Hi there!

Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the KDE program itself, and not with our KDE packages. But don't worry! This issue is being tracked by the KDE developers at: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=189795
Once fixed in KDE, it will be included in Kubuntu once the KDE version the fix is in in reaches Kubuntu.

Thanks!
