Bug Description
Binary package hint: screen-profiles
motd+shell is invoked by screen-profiles instead of invoking a shell directly. That script should, however, use exec to supersede its process image with the new one by the shell. Otherwise you get useless motd+shell parent processes lingering around.
As found with screen-profiles 1.44-0ubuntu1.2 in Jaunty.

Thanks for the report. This is fixed upstream, and in Karmic.
I don't think I can justify an SRU to Jaunty for this, though, sorry. If you want to fix it on your systems, please use the byobu package from the PPA.
Thanks,
:-Dustin
