touchpad click doesnt work

Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

The clickable touchpad area does not register single or double clicks.

This can be fixed by downloading "touchpad" from the add/remove program.
This application controls the clicking of the touchpad.

Thats great. Thanks for the app. Please explain how this was disabled by default.

The default installation should not disable touchpad clicking.
