Can't place or recieve SIP calls

Binary package hint: empathy

The SIP clients register fine with the SIP server on my network (Asterisk 1.6 - Ubuntu 9.04 Server and Asterisk 1.6 Debian Lenny) but I can't make or receive calls.

When trying to place or answer an incoming call I get a following error in the logs:
tpsip_media_stream_error: StreamHandler.Error called: 0 Method "GetAll" with signature "s" on interface "org.freedesktop.DBus.Properties" doesn't exist

Thanks for the report, may you please try the same with Empathy version from the telepathy ppa and comment back? the ppa is located at: https://edge.launchpad.net/~telepathy/+archive/ppa ; Thanks in advance.

Tried it with the same result both on Karmic and Jaunty. The repo is incomplete through:, I had to install telepathy-sofiasip compiled for intrepid.

Same behaviour here. I am using Jaunty and Empathy from the ppa. Just by today, sofia sip got updated through the update manger, but it didnt change anything. I was calling empathy from my mobile phone. It works flawlessly with Linphone and ekiga, so port settings etc. are o.k.

This bug has to deal with the package telepathy-sofiasip. Changing to reflect that

a) This bug is marked as a duplicate of #351541, which is about a crash. This bug has nothing to do with a crash. Why is it listed as a duplicate?
b) Since this is the only significant feature of telepathy-sofiasip, the package is made useless by this bug. Further, it's a regression against earlier versions which worked. This should be significantly higher priority
