Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem

It would be really nice if totem is capable of loading another avi after finishing one.

E.g. I have three avi files:

some_movie-cd1.avi
some_movie-cd2.avi
some_movie-cd3.avi

(or some_movie-cda.avi, some_movie-cdb.avi, some_movie-cdc.avi, or even some_movie-cd{X}-xvid.avi).

Many windows-based players are capable of loading next movie and it's really useful feature. It should be case insensitive as many people do not care in Windows...

it does this already, I'm using this feature while seeing avi videos from TV series that i download from the net, just put those files into the totem playlist and there you go, does that works for you or you're requesting something else? thanks.

Yes, it's something else.

What I am asking for is option, that would allow either:

1) to automatically load all movie files to playlist (even if you open only one movie file), based on file names (case insensitive, using either 1,2,3 or a,b,c "numbering")

2) automatically load next file when you finish the first one.

And obviously load automatically subtitles if they are present (as most windows players do).

I have no problem in loading it manually, but there is a lot of windows users who are used for auto-load feature and "linux is bad, because it does not load it automatically". They need to click on first AVI and then watch all parts without significant interruption. And I would like to have it same way ;-)

Ok thanks, that's something to send directly upstream at http://bugzilla.gnome.org by someone interested on the feature, for forwarding instructions please read http://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME, Thanks in advance.

closing the bug since nobody seems to be interested by taking that to the software writters and the ubuntu team doesn't intend to work on the change
