Bug Description
when I unmount a USB drive from the gnome desktop, the icon disappears on the desktop, but I get no indication that the device has been properly shutdown. The lights in my sandisk cruzer devices remain active, even though it appears as though it safe to remove the device (and indeed I have not had any problems in doing so)

I think this really confuses new users. Everybody looks at the lights of their USB drive, and some people are afraid to unplug it if they're still on.
