"desktop switcher" sometimes moves wallpaper, sometimes not

Bug Description

In Ubuntu Intrepid and before, desktop switcher in compiz moved everything (panels + wallpapers + windows).

In Ubuntu Jaunty, if I switch desktop, most of the time it moves windows only (not gnome-panel and not wallpaper).
But sometimes, it moves windows + wallpapers : the behaviour is not consistent… it should move only windows… or windows + wallpapers… but it should be consistent.

Could you attach before an after screenshots of what has occurred? Or diagram what is occurring? Thanks.

I attach a small video, which show which happens most of the time : when I switch desktop, only the windows are moved.

But sometimes (I don't know how to reproduce), the wallpaper is still moved (while on this video it stays in place).

OK, I found a very easy way to reproduce :
- launch ccsm
- disable "desktop switcher" plugin
- re-enable it

Then switch desktop : the wallpaper moves !

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Karmic Koala. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/. Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

I cannot reproduce this problem in karmic. Disabling Desktop Wall then enabling again still results in only windows moving.

The problem is still in Karmic beta (I tested in live CD).

Just install ccsm, then enable or disable some options (for example coverflow switching, windows previews, etc...), then switching desktop will move the wallpaper and gnome-panels, while it should move only windows (like when you start the system).

It seems there are some inconsistencies for desktop switching animation behavior.
