It enables Firefox to use Notify-osd. Bugs around it should be fixed, and the extensions should be added to Firefox's defaut install.

Unfortunately, other add-ons use Firefox's built-in notification system (DownThemAll for instance), and these will keep using the built-in one till we are able to directly replace Firefox's built-in notification system by a libnotify one.

Again Pierre this needs to be filed against firefox and not notify-osd. As Steve mentioned, also firefox itself has to make use of libnotify directly in order to have notify-osd render the notifications.
