Bug Description

See attachment - the offending yellow/blue icon really stands out. Should find an artist to draw us a better one...

I reused the icon from xournal. I'll ask Pascal Grochol if he has a good idea.

Ok. I've asked Richard Querin <http://blog.rfquerin.org/> too (
http://blog.rfquerin.org/), he draws very nice stuffs with Inkscape:

I've given it a try. Here's the same screenshot with the proposed revision to the highlighter icon. I've also attached the 16x16 png file for the icon as well.

Here's the 16x16 icon file by itself. I wasn't sure how to attach both to one message (a complete Launchpad newbie here if you couldn't tell). ;)

Btw - how do I get to the screenshot editor? I've installed what I think is the latest dev version, but selecting the editor does nothing.

I think that's quite nice, but the yellow tip is a bit too sharp. How about
toning down the black outline to make it look smoother?

Also, you should able to access the editor after taking a screenshot and
pressing 'Edit' in the toolbar, or doing Screenshot -> Edit - like this:

Also, tip - you can reply to launchpad bugs right via email.

Hi Richard,

i like your draft as well.

You can use the experimental branch of Shutter to get the most bleeding edge version:
bzr branch lp:~mario-kemper/shutter/experimental

If you are using Ubuntu you can also use our Testing-PPA to install a recent copy:
https://launchpad.net/~shutter-testing-team/+archive/ppa

Thanks very much for your effort.

Greetings
Mario

I've now committed your new icon and it looks nice (see attachment).

Is this bug ready to be closed now or is there still some work to do?

You can mark the report as so, but if Richard improves the icon a bit, lets
update it.

I'll take Vadim's point about the outline and have another look at it. I had trouble trying to separate the tip from the highlighter "ink" behind it. Maybe it can be toned down just a touch. If I think it's an improvement, I'll post it here.

Here's a version that is very slightly more subtle so the separation of the tip from the ink behind it is not so drastic but still apparent.

I think that's quite good. Thank you!
