Bug Description

I've got a problem with hplib version 3.9.4b and my HP Color LaserJet 2600n:

Whenever I print an image (or pdf-file) containing black parts (such as black (100%K in CMYK) images) or text the printer doesn't print a clear black but there's a hint of yellow behind the image as well which is really annoying.

I'm attaching a test-pdf, an image of what it looks like when printed out and the hp-check -t output.

thanks,
Klaus

Attached is a test-file which I printed. The same error occurs regardless whether I use Gimp, OpenOffice, Evince, EOG, Adobe Acrobat or any other application I've tested so far.

Oh my, I just realised an error on my part: The black text in the test-file is not 100% black due to an error in the scribus picture-export-module.

However, the extreme bleeding of the yellow colour is everything but normal and it is not due to the faulty test-image. One quick way to reproduce the error: Fire up Gimp, load an image and write something with the text-tool in 100% black. When you print the image, the bleeding of the yellow colour around the edges of the text will also occur.

I have hp2600n and i have the same problem, too.
I am using hplip version 3.9.6b on fedora 11.

If I print plain black text in color mode, the text is completely yellow bordered.

This bug is still present. The only option is to set the printer to black and white if I'm printing plain text to prevent it.
