Bug Description

Please backport Rosegarden 1.7.3 as it includes many bug fixes and new features such as part transpositions that are extremely useful in composition and arranging.

Rosegarden is the notation editor and midi sequencer for the Ubuntu Studio package, and with ATI abandoning hardware accelleration for the 2-year-old Radeon chipsets, and with the problems with the RT kernel in 8.10 and 9.04 on some Dell hardware, there will be a long term need to backport the Studio apps.

If it helps, I have created a binary deb which I call 1:1.7.3-1ubuntu1 so as to be recognized as an upgrade to the strangely named 1-colon version numbering used by the Rosegarden packager. I am a rank novice at deb packages, this is a total hack composed of guesses, fudges and splices of other deb specs, so I really don't know how good it might be, but it does work for my purposes and if it would be useful for the backporting I would be happy to attach it or send it somewhere for inspection.
