Bug Description

Xorg seems to have a memory leak. My system is up to date. I do not have compiz/beryl or any effects running. I reboot my machine and it climbs by the hour. I boot up and try different gui and it is still there, even in fvwm on a fresh reboot. I can provide more information if you would like, just tell me what to do to get it. I pasted the output for top, xrestop and xdpyinfo. If left long enough my gui will stop working, mouse wont even move.

Thank you for the report, but this is not a launchpad bug, re-assigning to Ubuntu.
We're interested in why you accidentally recorded this bug as occurring in launchpad instead of Ubuntu. If you can explain what happened, please let us know in bug 88818.

Hi staxjp,

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you've made any customizations to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

[This is an automated message. Apologies if it has reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

I think this might be a dupe of bug #360319, however based on the limited description it is hard to say for sure. Could you review that bug report and let us know if it matches up for you? If so, we have a fix for that one which may solve this bug as well.

If not, please test karmic alpha-2 (or newer) and see if you can reproduce the problem, in which case we'll forward it upstream for further analysis.

We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms the bug is one we may be able to pass upstream for help.
