Bug Description

I’m using a brand new, clean installation of current 64-bit Jaunty (linux-image-2.6.28-11-generic 2.6.28-11.42) on a ThinkPad X301 with the ethernet controller using¹ e1000e. The system hangs indefinitely on shutdown if it’s plugged into a wired network (and shuts down normally if plugged into a wireless network) – this seems like the opposite of #365733

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try
with the latest Karmic 9.10 release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are
available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If the issue remains, could you run the following command from a
Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal) while running Karmic. It
will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this
report.

apport-collect -p linux 383529

Thanks in advance

I can’t migrate to Karmic due to #416073 / #447577 and I can’t use Jaunty’s kernel due to #346691 – but this bug doesn’t seem to affect me ever since I switched to a vanilla 2.6.30 kernel on Jaunty.
