Bug Description
Binary package hint: xserver-
Display Preferences application writes the following to xorg.conf when mirror display is disabled:
Section "Screen"
Identifier "Default Screen"
Monitor "Configured Monitor"
Device "Configured Video Device"
SubSection "Display"
EndSection
This combined with the latest xserver-
I'm assuming that this isn't caused by gdm since if i enter my username and password to the blank screen, i can hear the login sound playing.

Does this still occur if you have the external monitor disconnected (but the Virtual set as above)? With the external monitor disconnected, does it still happen if you reduce the first number to 2049? And to 2048?
